School & Cadet Corps History
Brief History of OLA Girls Senior High School and Cadet Corps
OLA Girls Senior High School, Kenyasi, was established in 1960 by the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA). The school was founded to provide quality education for girls and to develop students academically, morally, socially, and spiritually. Over the years, the school has grown into one of the notable girls’ senior high schools in the Ahafo Region.
The OLA Girls Cadet Corps was established in 2009 through the initiative of Bishop Peter Atuahene. It was made a reality by Rev. Sr. Martha Davis, the Headmistress at the time, with assistance from Mr. Kwarteng Anthony. The Corps was inaugurated in 2009 with assistance from the Tepa Senior High School Cadet Corps and the Northern Command of the Ghana Army.
Since its establishment, the Cadet Corps has promoted discipline, leadership, teamwork, patriotism, confidence, and service among students. It continues to contribute to the holistic development of young women in the school.
