At the time of inauguration, the Corps started with 120 Cadets and 80 Bandsmen. The first Master in Charge (MIC) was Mr. Timothy Agboka, during the headship of Mr. I. C. B. Saku.
Since its establishment, the Corps has participated in numerous national and regional programmes.
Currently, the Master in Charge is Mr. Richard Amedume, who assumed office in 2020 and has been in charge till date. He is ably supported by Mr. David Morrison and Mr. Dennis Avor.
